"Derek is a physically strong striker who can hold the puck very well and will give our team both size and toughness," says sporting director Sven Leuenberger. "He goes where it hurts, is strong in front of goal,"
Grant, 33, appeared in 427 career games in the National Hockey League for the Ottawa Senators, Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres, Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers and the Anaheim Ducks, who he spent the majority of his time with.
In those 427 games, the Abbotsford, British Columbia native put up 132 points (57 goals, 75 assists), 162 penalty minutes and was a minus-42. Grant also added two assists in 19 career games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
