Andrei Vasilevskiy makes equipment change to help him interfere with NHL review challenges

Players in the NHL are always looking for a competitive advantage. Any alteration a player or team can make to give themselves a slight edge, they're usually willing to take and that's exactly what Andrei Vasilevskiy has decided to do headed into last season.

During last year's playoffs teams faced multiple goal reviews involving whether or not the puck had actually crossed the line. Without conclusive evidence the league was often forced to rule a play no goal, or stick with the call on the ice. So how could a team give themselves an advantage in such a situation?

While most of the time players have their equipment mandated to be certain colors, that apparently doesn't apply to blade holder colors. Because of that Vasi has made the decision to go with black skate holders next season. Scouting the Refs on Twitter quickly pointed out the competitive advantage this could provide the Lightning goaltender.

Potentially going to make it harder to see the puck over the line if it's along or under his skate.

No rule on the color there... only requirement is that the stick knob has to be white tape.

This will clearly create questions, but do you think the NHL should mandate blade holder colors?
