It's no secret, things didn't pan out for Kevin Hayes as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers, who signed him to a pretty bad contract to begin with, but when exactly did things start to go south between Hayes and the Flyers organization?

Hayes recently appeared on the Cam & Strick podcast to provide a little bit of insight on the matter and it started with the arrival of John Tortorella and subsequently being removed from the teams penalty kill; take a look.

my whole career I'd been on the penalty kill until Torts came

Hayes, 31, had a fairly productive year offensively last year skating in 81 games for the Flyers scoring 18 goals and adding 36 assists for a total of 54 points, but between being removed from the penalty kill and playing through injuries, he really hadn't lived up to expectations.

Hayes used to be known as a power forward and as such, for most players like that, including Hayes, penalty killing is part of their role, if you take him off of the kill like Tortorella did, it's going to be hard for him to get going.

It's another player that doesn't like working with Torts
DO YOU THINK BEING REMOVED FROM THE PENALTY KILL HURT HAYES
