Arizona Coyotes place forward on unconditional waivers for contract termination

While many fans had their eyes focused on the Pittsburgh Penguins and if they would use their second buyout window by placing a player on unconditional waivers, it was the Arizona Coyotes who decided to use the waiver wire on Saturday.

According to CapFriendly, the Coyotes have placed Jean-Sebastien Dea on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract. The 29-year-old was set to enter the final year of a two-year contract he signed with Arizona last summer.

Dea, a native of Laval, Quebec, suited up in 67 games for the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners last season where he put up 50 points (23 goals, 27 assists), 42 penalty minutes and was a minus-22. He also appeared in four games for the Coyotes, but didn't record any points.

Also, according to Craig Morgan, Dea is expected to play outside of North America next season. It appears this buyout was at his request
