Atlantic Division team may take one more crack at trading for Mark Scheifele

Training camps are set to open around the National Hockey League in the coming weeks and teams are continuing to prepare their rosters for the 2023-24 season.

This summer, there have been several rumours surrounding the Winnipeg Jets and if they'll move Mark Scheifele and/or Connor Hellebuyck, both of whom are entering the final year of their current contracts.

For Mark Scheifele, he's been linked to a handful of teams including the Boston Bruins, but things have appeared to die down on that front since July, but Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press wonders if they'll take one more crack at trying to acquire the 2011 seventh-overall pick.

There's no doubt that the Boston Bruins would be a good fit for Mark Scheifele, given their lack of depth at center due to the retirements of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci. Right now, the Bruins have Charlie Coyle, Pavel Zacha, Morgan Geekie and Patrick Brown lined up to be their four centermen to start the 2023-24 season, but adding Mark Scheifele into the mix would greatly improve their playoff chances in the tough Atlantic Division.


Scheifele, a native of Kitchener, Ontario, had the best goal-scoring season of his NHL career thus far, putting the puck in the back of the net 42 times in 81 games, while adding 26 assists.
