Bergeron reveals which jersey he wanted to wear other than the Boston's

Earlier this week, long-time Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron announced his retirement from professional hockey after 19 years in the NHL.

In the press release that he put out via the Bruins' team website, Bergeron revealed which uniform he wanted to wear other than Boston's and that was for Team Canada, which he did on numerous occasions.

"There is only one other jersey that I ever wanted to wear, and that is the Canadian jersey." Bergeron said.

He added, "Representing my country at the highest level - especially winning Gold in Vancouver and Sochi are also some of my proudest moments."

Bergeron was a key piece of several Canadian teams over the last 10-15 years, helping them win back-to-back gold medals at the Olympics, a World Cup of Hockey title in 2016, a World Junior gold medal and a World Championship gold medal. He is also a member of the Triple Gold Club and is the only player in IIHF history to win a World Championship gold medal before a World Junior gold medal.

While Bruins fans will miss seeing Bergeron suit up for them on a nightly basis, Canadian hockey fans will also miss having one of the best two-way centerman to ever play the game achieve greatness for his country.
