BY COOPER GODIN SEPTEMBER 20, 2023 (10:24)
The Bruins announced on Wednesday that they've named longtime forward Brad Marchand captain, becoming the 27th player in franchise history to wear the 'C'.
Marchand, 35, has spent his entire 14-year career in the NHL with the Boston Bruins, winning the Stanley Cup with them in 2011 and appearing in 947 games, where he's tallied 862 points (372 goals, 490 assists).
The first opportunity Bruins fans may have to wear the 'C' in game action will come on Sunday against the New York Rangers. They'll then open their Centennial season on October 11th at home against the Chicago Blackhawks.
