Colorado Avalanche score one of the weirdest goals you'll ever see
After a 2-1 shootout victory last night, the Colorado Avalanche made the short trip from Toronto to Ottawa to face off against the Senators. With the Avalanche leading the game 4-2 in the 2nd period, the Avalanche added to their lead with one of the strangest goals you'll likely ever see.
As the puck is dumped into the Senators zone it comes to a rest in front of Mads Sogard. Sogard appears to cover the puck, but at no time does the whistle blow. Lars Eller does exactly as you're taught and he follows up on the puck and bangs it into the net.The Senators were absolutely shocked by the goal being allowed to stand. The Senators had multiple questions, but ultimately the play stood and the Avalanche took a 5-2 lead. The Avalanche would win the game 5-4, with this goal standing as the game winner.
