Hockey is a physical sport and that's why a lot of us know and love it, but sometimes players take things too far. Last night was a perfect example of that. When Troy Terry approached Jay Beagle after he cross-checked Trevor Zegras, Terry definitely didn't expect the response.

Beagle immediately dropped his gloves and took out his frustration on Terry. Terry was never able to drop his gloves and he ate multiple unopposed shots to the face. The video can be seen below:

There has been a lot of outcry about this play and as of now it sounds like NHL Player Safety won't be imposing any punishment for the play. But now that the first image of Terry has been released it's hard to accept this as just a hockey play.
It's unknown if Terry will be playing in the Ducks upcoming games, but in my opinion this play should be investigated by the league. If George Parros and his crew at NHL Player Safety disagree, then it's clear they aren't truly interested in protecting the players.
