Gary Bettman makes awkwardly pointed threat towards owner who criticized him

Since buying the Ottawa Senators earlier this season, owner Michael Andlauer has been through a whirlwind of unfortunate events. In just a month since closing the sale, Andlauer has lost a player to a betting suspension, a draft pick due to lack of discretion, firing the General Manager, and the team's performance has been below expectations.

A couple weeks ago, Andlauer gave a press conference when he fired former GM Pierre Dorion and was then able to comment on the state of affairs while taking over the team. Memorably, Andlauer stated «I don't know why I'm inheriting this.»

Now, it seems Gary Bettman has made his response to Andlauer raising the slightest question to the authority of the NHL. Recently, Bettman stated that Andlauer shoukd essentially accept reality and the consequences for the Senators' actions.





Bettman's quote almost reads like a mob boss trying to squash dissent amongst its members, and perhaps that's the way it should be taken. Rarely, if ever, does Bettman take a criticism from any other NHL owners, and Andlauer just learned that fact.
