Here's what Mitch Miller made from his contract with the Boston Bruins

BY TJ TUCKER    JULY 25, 2023  (1:30 PM)
While Mitchell Miller didn't earn anywhere near what the actual deal was worth, he still made money from his contract with the Boston Bruins, despite never suiting up for the team.

Miller was signed to a three-year, entry-level deal with the Bruins in November of last year. After considerable pressure from fans and media, he was dropped in three months later in February of 2023. At the time, Boston's management had said it has severed all ties with Miller. We found out recently that wasn't the case, and his contract was officially terminated on April 30th. Because of that, Miller received compensation.

His annual salary would have been $845,000 per year in the NHL, while dropping to $82,500 in the AHL. According to CapFriendly, Miller was given close to $167,000, which he keeps.

That amount was a buy-out that was mostly based on playing in the minors, even though Miller hadn't suited up for the Providence Bruins.

Miller was initially drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in 2020. However, after incidents of bullying and some ugly incidents came to light, Arizona decided to renounce him as a pick, making him free to play wherever he wanted. From 2019 to 2022, he played for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL. Miller did not play anywhere last season.
