Legendary NHL broadcaster passes away at 81-years-old

It has been a tough week in the hockey world. Earlier this week the hockey world lost both Rodion Amirov and Bobby Baun. Tonight that sad new was followed by the announcement that legendary broadcaster Rick Jeanneret has passed away at 81-years-old.

Buffalo area reporter Mike Harrington provided the following information via his Twitter page.

BREAKING: It is my sad duty to report that Hall of Fame broadcaster Rick Jeanneret, the legendary play-by-play man of the #Sabres, has died this evening. The team has confirmed the news.




Jeanneret was one of the most popular play-by-play callers in the league and he will be deeply missed by the hockey community.


Rest in peace to a legend.
