Lucic says two Original Six teams expressed interest in him before signing in Boston

Milan Lucic signed a one-year contract with the Boston Bruins on July 1st to return to the franchise where he began his NHL career and won a Stanley Cup with.

But in a recent interview, Lucic says that the Boston Bruins weren't the only Original Six franchise to express interest in him this summer as the Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Maple Leafs wanted to sign him.




The 35-year-old spent the first eight years of his National Hockey League career with the Boston Bruins from 2007 to 2015, helping them lift the Stanley Cup in 2011 and recording a trio of 20+ goal seasons. The Bruins are hoping Lucic can add that bite to the bottom-six he had when playing with them and that he can contribute a goal here and there.
