Minnesota Wild Head Coach accuses Matt Murray of cheating

In Friday afternoon's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Minnesota Wild, the Leafs' net came off its moorings far more than often, and perhaps it was intentional.

Three times in the game, Leafs' goaltender Matt Murray made contact with the net hard enough to knock it out of the crease, and stopping play. Each time the net was knocked off, the Wild had some sort of offensive opportunity, or offensive zone possession.

Below will be the video evidence, where it looks to be possible that Murray knocks the net off intentionally to prevent a scoring opportunity.




Wild Head Coach Dean Evason pulled no punches in his criticism of the officiating after the game. While not directly calling the calls incorrect, he wondered aloud how it wasn't a penalty for delay of game.



While the Wild managed to put up a comeback effort, they fell one goal short and lost 4-3 to the Leafs in regulation. No doubt, the Wild feel cheated by the lack of calls against Murray, and perhaps another power play would've given them the edge in the game. For today however, the Leafs come away with the win.
