Florida Panthers have explored trade market for Sergei Bobrovsky

On the most recent edition of the 32 Thoughts Podcast, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Florida Panthers have made an aggressive effort to trade their starting goaltender, Sergei Bobrovsky.

Friedman mentions that despite the trade not being completed this season, the team may have laid the groundwork for a trade that could be completed during the off-season or draft, where roster fluidity is much higher.

Bobrovsky, although having a reputation of inconsistency, has posted respectable numbers this year. In only ten games played, Bobrovsky posted a 2.70 GAA and a .911 save percentage. Despite this solid season and a track record of success, it will be difficult to move the 33 year old goaltender due to his $10M owed annually, and a full no-move clause in his contract until the 2024-25 season.

The Panthers will likely look to Spencer Knight as their goaltender of the future if they are to move Bobrovsky. After being swept in the second round and aspiring for the Stanley Cup, the Panthers will look to upgrade everywhere, including this significant move at the starting goalie position.
