Sidney Crosby makes cancer patients dream come true

Sidney Crosby is one of the nicest and most accessible hockey players on the face of the earth today. He's met with countless individuals during his time as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins and has managed to put smiles on the faces of children far and wide during a career that has spanned over 17 years.

Recently a thirteen-year-old Windsor, ON native was granted a wish by the Make-A-Wish foundation. Logan Ferris, 13 wanted to meet Sidney Crosby from the age of five and has been his hero "for as long as I can remember".

Ferris who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 1 on March 8, was granted his wish on March 8, twelve years later. Make a Wish and the Penguins organization flew Logan and the rest of his family to Pittsburgh where they signed the youngster to a one-day contract.


Penguins General Manager Ron Hextall welcomed Logan and the rest of his family during a press conference where it was announced that along with the teen, his siblings were also signed to one-day contracts.

The thirteen-year-old participated in morning practice and spent time with Crosby and the rest of his family at the rink.

Ferris whose cancer is in remission was a bit nervous that Crosby would be serious but realized he's lots of fun and had lots of conversation.

Logan and his family wanted to make sure they thanked the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Pittsburgh Penguins organization and to let people know to donate to them to allow for moments like this to continue to occur.
