Anaheim Ducks may make all-star forward available for trade
It's open season with NHL teams working hard to decide how their roster will look come puck drop on the 2024-2025 season and with that in mind, everyone is taking stock of what they have and what they could move for assets or to make their team better now.
One such team that is in a rebuilding phase is the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks who have been rumoured to have John Gibson available for the right price as well as Trevor Zegras have been fielding calls on Frank Vatrano as well.
Vatrano, 30 who was the Ducks' only bright spot this past season, finished with 60 points including 37 goals along with 23 assists as well as 85 penalty minutes for a team that faltered again.
So, while the Ducks could use Vatrano as trade capital to acquire some picks, prospects or the like those who are rumoured to be interested should be calling GM Pat Verbeek with the understanding he won't just go for anything. If the Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders Carolina Hurricanes, New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers or Detroit Red Wings feel it's in their best interest to acquire a guy with the pedigree of Vatrano, Verbeek will likely be fielding calls and listening for the best possible offer.
