Cutter Gauthier, former first-round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers who forced a trade away from the team earlier this year, was in action on Saturday and had some pretty cocky comments prior to the National Championship game.

When asked about tonight's game, Gauthier said that there's going to be a lot of emotions and that there will be plenty of tears for the opposing team, the University of Denver.

"It's gonna be epic. There's gonna be a lot of emotions and a lot of tears for that team over there. So, we're happy and we're excited to get after it.

Boston College and Cutter Gauthier would go on to get shutout by the University of Denver in the final by a score of 2-0, with the tears likely being shed by the Ducks prospect. Gauthier, who had a strong season with Boston College and at the World Juniors, will likely turn professional and sign with the Anaheim Ducks, although he said he hasn't talked with the team recently.

"Yeah, I'm not too sure. I haven't spoken to Ducks at all recently, so not too sure what's going on there and what their thoughts are, but you know, just trying to cherish every last moment as being a college athlete." Gauthier said.

There's nothing wrong with being confident in yourself and your abilities, as well as what your team is capable of doing, but Gauthier's comments are cocky, there's no other way to put it. But, he can use this as a learning opportunity and to grow as he takes the next step in his career.
