In tonight's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins used the classic "can opener" move on Timothy Liljegren that left the young defenceman limping to get off the ice. If you're unfamiliar with a can opener in hockey, think a slewfoot without the person responsible using his arm to pull back on the victim's head/face. In this case, Marchand gets his leg behind Liljegren's, and takes him down at the worst possible moment.
Lilogren was not on the bench to start the second period, and Toronto is having some brutal luck with blueliners the past few games. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see that the NHL's department of Player Safety us summoning Marchand for a hearing tomorrow.
