Former NHLer Paul Bissonnette and current Boston Bruin Brad Marchand have a lot in common when they're on the ice. Bissonnette was never the offensive threat that Marchand is, but both played with an edge that was great for getting under the skin of opponents. Turns out they have something else in common, too. They both think Jordan Binnington of the St. Louis Blues is a little nuts.
As the Bruins were getting ready to face the Blues Sunday, Marchand was interviewed by Bissonnette, and was asked how he prepares to face a goalie like Binnington, whose well-known for walking the line (and possibly going over it, depending on who you ask), night and night out.
He's a bit of a loose cannon like you," said Bissonnette to Marchand. "Does it make you hesitant to go to the crease area when a goalie like that, who's fit for a straight-jacket, is playing
That got a laugh from Marchand, who said taking on someone who plays in a similar way he does is "always entertaining."
He makes me look like a good guy, though, said Marchand.
I used to be the most hated, but I think he's kind of taken that over now.
Another St. Louis Blues, Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Final won't be happening this season, but it might be fun to see it again down the road.
