Boston Bruins' Nikita Zadorov Steps Away From the Team for Personal Reasons

The Boston Bruins 2024/25 season has been incredibly underwhelming, and after moving several key pieces at the trade deadline, their roster is now lacking the star power that we've come to know from this organization.

One of the veterans that is left on the roster is blue liner Nikita Zadorov, who has played a key role for the team thus far, even if they are unlikely to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately, it has now been announced that the veteran defenseman has headed home to Boston as the team are on a road trip, taking a leave of absence from the team due to personal reasons.

That report comes from Fluto Shinzawa, with Zadorov likely to be away from the team due to his partners pregnancy, and at this point, it's unclear how long he'll be away from the team.

With a 30-33-9 record on the season, the Bruins have just 10 games left to play this season, and while they're out of the post-season race already, he'll no doubt want to get back on the ice and support his teammates down the stretch.

After a massive contract handed out this past summer, Zadorov has played in all 72 games the team have played thus far, tallying 4 goals, 17 points and a +14 differential on the year, showing that he can indeed make a huge impact, and with the veteran stepping away, we will now wait and see if he gets back on the ice this season.
