Bruins Defenceman Scratched For Disciplinary Reasons
The Boston Bruins are missing a huge piece on the backend with Hampus Lindholm out with an injury. Their defence just lost another piece for their upcoming game tonight against the Seattle Kraken due to a careless mistake.
Head coach Jim Montgomery confirmed that defenceman Derek Forbort will be a healthy scratch for the team's final game of their Western road trip because he missed a meeting.
The 31 year old Forbort is in his third season with the Bruins. In 34 games this season he has 4 points while averaging 17:44 in ice time. Forbort carries a cap hit of $3M and will be a UFA at the end of the season.
The extra stress will be put on the defenceman tonight but good on coach Montgomery for making the tough decision. Every player needs to be held accountable when mistakes are made.
Boston is looking to snap a two-game losing streak when they visit Seattle tonight. The Bruins are currently at the top of the Atlantic division with a record of 34-12-13. Boston has one more point on the surging Florida Panthers who have won eight of their last nine games.
