Bruins' Montgomery disappointed in NHL scheduling
If Jim Montgomery had been in charge of scheduling the Stanley Cup playoffs, he would not have made it, so the Boston Bruins were essentially stuck in Toronto for two extra days.
Montgomery voiced his concerns about the scheduling and his opinion that he'd rather be in Toronto Thursday and Saturday instead of Wednesday and Saturday.
There doesn't appear to be a scheduling conflict with Scotia Bank Arena, which will sit empty an extra day, so it's a bit peculiar that the break is two days instead of the typical one.
Montgomery's point is valid, and although it's unknown, the National Hockey League could have done this to balance the schedule for television and media purposes. If somehow the Maple Leafs come home and win games three and four, it will be interesting to see if Montgomery remains steadfast in his opinion of the schedule or if he relaxes his stance on everything, which is highly unlikely.
