The Boston Bruins haven't been at their best early in the year, but now, they may be looking to cash in on pending UFA Trent Frederic.

After 13 games this season, the Boston Bruins have one of their worst records in recent memory as they sit at just 6-6-1, and while there's plenty of time left in the year, this could leave the front office to make some major changes. In fact, one insider has revealed he believes Jim Montgomery will be out as Head Coach this season, with the potential belief that this isn't the exact group to get them to the promised land.

With Brad Marchand a pending UFA for this upcoming summer, there could be some shock moves made by this team, and now, Kevin Weekes has singled out a young forward as a trade candidate moving forward.

According to Weekes, the 26-year old Frederic, whose career has been on the incline as of late has drawn plenty of interest on the trade market, and given that he is also a pending UFA, it's certainly a move that could make plenty of sense for Boston to recoup some assets. Frederic was a first-round pick of the Bruins back in 2016, and topped his career high in points last season with 18 goals and 22 assists, but given his size, speed, strength and his hockey IQ, he's shaping up as the perfect middle-six forward for contending teams to target.

The next few months will depend heavily on what the Boston Bruins want to do, but with the recent addition of Tyler Johnson, they may be willing to make a shock move to get this team going, and if the trade interest in Frederic continues, don't be shocked to see them cash in on a very valuable asset.
