Its been nearly a month since the Calgary Flames have parted ways with general manager Brad Treliving but team is reportedly not allowing the 53-year-old from joining a new team.

According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Flames do not want to grant teams permission to speak with and interview Treliving until his contract expires on June 30th.

"Why hasn't Brad Treliving's name popped up for front office job openings?

Teams are interested. Sources say early indication is #Flames do not plan to permit Treliving to interview for vacancies until after his contract expires on June 30.

We'll see if that changes." Seravalli said in a tweet.

Treliving was hired by the Flames in April 2014 and spent nearly nine years as the team's general manager, constructing five playoff teams during his tenure in Calgary.

There will more than likely be more openings this summer for Treliving, but so far the only general manager vacancy is with the Pittsburgh Penguins and they seem pretty keen on hiring one before the NHL's Entry Draft in late June. So that would essentially eliminate any possibility for Treliving to land that job.
