Hurricanes forward seen for the first time since devastating injury
Carolina Hurricanes forward Jesper Fast was injured in the team's regular season finale back on April 16 and has been in a neck brace ever since. According to reports, Fast sustained a neck sprain during the incident, and although he has no more answers today than on the day he was injured, he is doing his best to make light of the situation, even if it's serious.
Fast skated in 73 regular season games before he sustained his injury; however, while healthy, he finished with 6 goals, 13 assists, and 19 points along with sixteen penalty minutes.
«It's a neck injury you can probably see that»
Jesper Fast low key bringing some humour. But just a scary situation for him. Hope they can get it figured out!
Being injured and not being able to help your teammates is one thing, but being injured and not knowing much more than that can be frustrating and, at times, quite scary and deflating. The way that Fast has handled his circumstances is quite admirable. Many people would likely not be able to joke about what's going on if they were facing a similar fate.
While Fast is still waiting for a diagnosis, his hope and belief are that once he's ready, he'll be able to return to get ready for the 20242025 season.
