Perry, who was brought in by the Blackhawks to serve as a mentor to the team's young players, was made a healthy scratch for Chicago's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Head coach Luke Richardson would only say it was an "organizational decision." Today, Perry was not on the ice for Chicago's practice session.
Perry carries a cap hit for the Hawks of $4 million per season. Not having him on the ice when he's healthy doesn't make much sense, unless there's something going on that the team isn't making public. For now, there is absolutely no futher information to go on. Chicago's next game is Friday afternoon against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
