After having an awful season in 2022-23, the Chicago Blackhawks have turned the page to the Connor Bedard era and hope that down the road, he'll lead them to multiple Stanley Cups, like Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane did.

This summer, the Blackhawks made plenty of moves, including the signing of veteran forward and 2007 Stanley Cup champion, Corey Perry.

But there's one move that the Blackhawks didn't make that defenceman Seth Jones isn't too happy about. Jones' brother Caleb, who spent the last two seasons in Chicago.

Caleb Jones was set to become a restricted free agent this summer, but the Blackhawks decided not to issue him a qualifying offer, making him a UFA. He would eventually go on to sign a one-year deal with the Carolina Hurricanes.

In a recent interview with Chicago Sun-Times, Seth Jones said that he wasn't informed by Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson prior to them not issuing his brother a qualifying offer. He went on to say that Davidson eventually called him after the decision was made.

"[We] had some good chemistry last year, and Chicago just wanted to go a different way... After the fact, Kyle called me, but not before. But I'm trying to control what I can control." Jones said.

With his brother now with another organization, Seth Jones will have to focus his sights on helping the Blackhawks speed up their rebuild, which he'll be a big part of as he's undoubtedly the team's best defenceman. Jones will be sticking around in Chicago for quite a while too as he's under contract for the next seven seasons at a cap hit of $9.5 million.
