Obviously it wasn't intentional, but this is simply the type of luck that Bedard has had in recent times, even if he has managed to turn things around well after a relatively slow offensive start to the 2024/25 season.
In 64 games played with very, very little help around him, Bedard has a solid 52 points and is back to showing flashes of being a star, but as the only offensive threat on the ice, it's become easier for opposing teams to shut him down on a nightly basis.
Unfortunately for Bedard, things like this might ultimately keep happening until he gets much more skill around him that opponents need to keep a closer eye on, but as for the puck hitting him, that was just pure unfortunate luck and a coincidence that hopefully doesn't happen again.
