Columbus Blue Jackets Cancel Tribute Video For Patrik Laine After Shocking Comments

Patrik Laine disparaged the Columbus Blue Jackets ahead of their Monday night matchup, and now the team have revealed that it caused a major change for them ahead of the highly anticipated return.
The Columbus Blue Jackets traded Patrik Laine this past off-season, and ahead of his first matchup against them with the Montreal Canadiens, he's stirred up plenty of drama.
Ahead of that contest, it was the following comments that riled up not only Blue Jackets players, but the organization as well;
I feel like we were just doing the same thing year after year," said Laine as per Portzline. "I was tired of losing and just giving up when it's December to start focusing on next year. I'm not going to do that. That's frustrating as a player when you're trying to win and some people are, you know, not like that."

Veteran defenseman Zach Werenski was quick to fire back at Laine, and now, another consequence of his comments has surfaced.
«It's unfortunate For him to bash us like that, I think it's just unacceptable.»

According to a report, the team planned a tribute video for Laine after his three years with the team, but after his shocking comments on his time there, they rescinded that idea very quickly in the afternoon before the game.
This entire saga has been a shocking one from Laine's comments to Werenski's response, and while Laine didn't spend too long in Columbus, his departure and these comments could lead to a very long rivalry between these two teams with Laine involved.
