Dallas Stars provide update on Miro Heiskanen following game 3 injury
This is something no hockey fan likes to see, regardless of which team is your favourite. Defenceman Miro Heiskanen of the Dallas Stars went down hard last night after taking a puck to the face from a member of the Seattle Kraken in game 3 of their second round series. Heiskanen left the game and did not return. That said, in an update today, Stars coach Peter DeBoer sounded optimistic about Heiskanen possibly returning for game 3.
"He's here with the group. Obviously a pretty bad cut," said DeBoer. "I would call him day to day. We'll see how he feels tomorrow. 24 hours makes a big difference with those types of things."
It has been noted that Heiskanen's cut is not around his eye, and he is not in concussions protocol.
With Dallas now down 2-1 in their series with the Kraken, they need their best players on the ice, and Heiskanen is certainly one of them. We'll see what Tuesday brings by way of a further update.
