The Dallas Stars are rolling so far this season, but it's early and things can change quickly. If the right deal can be found, the team may circle back on trading a winger that was reportedly almost shipped out in the offseason.

Dave Pagnotta of the Fourth Period recently said Dallas tested the market for 28-year-old Mason Marchment over the summer, but couldn't find a deal that made sense. At some point this season, GM Jim Nill will look at trying again.

After going all the way to the Western Conference Final in 2022-23, the Stars are in full go for it mode. If a sweetener is needed to get someone to take on Marchment's $4.5 million cap hit for another two seasons after this one, Nill can afford.

Marchment has a modified no-trade clause that allowed him to submit a list of 10 NHL cities he doesn't want to play in. It was a full no-movement clause last season, which made it almost impossible to move him.
