Jake Oettinger was pulled in a shocking moment against the Edmonton Oilers, and now the star goaltender has broken his silence days later.

Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals were a major low for the Dallas Stars, with their season coming crashing down after Jake Oettinger was pulled by Head Coach Peter DeBoer just moments into the game.
Many have speculated that could have ruined the relationship between the two, with DeBoer stating on Saturday at a press conference that those reports at this stage simply aren't true.
After that, it was Oettinger's turn to take the stand, with the NHL world waiting in anticipation to see how he reacted to not only being pulled, but also the comments from his Head Coach after the game.
When addressing the decision to pull him from the game, Oettinger kept it short and simple, and while he didn't blatantly say that he agreed with the call, he said he understands it.
«It sucks. It's embarrassing.»
While many coaches wouldn't have pulled their goaltender at that point, with the way he had been playing and allowing two early goals, it's definitely easy to see DeBoer's side of things and why he made the call he did.
As for his relationship with DeBoer, Oettinger stated that he isn't too worried about that, and instead of going too much into that, he simply revealed that his focus is on the ice and bouncing back next season to become the best possible goaltender he can be for the Stars.
Ultimately, this was the right way for Oettinger to handle the entire situation, and after his comments, it's unlikely that he'll want out in the summer as many have speculated in recent times, as he appears motivated to bounce back in Dallas next season.
