Key play returns for a fourth season with the Idaho Steelheads
The Idaho Steelheads, proud ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, have announced the re-signing of forward Jade Miller for the 2025-26 season.
Head coach and director of hockey operations Everett Sheen confirmed the move, keeping one of the team's most experienced players in Boise.
According to the official team release on IdahoSteelheads.com, Miller, 30, enters his sixth professional season and fourth with the Steelheads.
Why Jade Miller's return matters to the Idaho Steelheads and Dallas Stars organization
Last season, Miller collected 17 points (7G, 10A) in 71 games, bringing his Idaho career totals to 63 points (29G, 34A) in 175 games.
He has also been a steady playoff contributor, registering nine points in 26 Kelly Cup Playoff appearances.
«Jade brings leadership, consistency, and a proven work ethic to our locker room,» Sheen said in the announcement.
Miller's most notable run came during the 2022-23 season when he helped the Steelheads win the Brabham Cup and reach the Kelly Cup Finals.
Before joining Idaho, he spent two seasons with the South Carolina Stingrays, bringing his ECHL career totals to 97 points (42G, 55A) over 274 games.
«The fans here in Boise make it special, and I'm excited for another season,» Miller added.
The Minto, North Dakota native also boasts a decorated college career at the University of Minnesota Duluth, winning back-to-back national championships in 2018 and 2019.
The Steelheads open their 27th season on October 17 at Tahoe before hosting the Utah Grizzlies for their home opener on October 24.
Personally, I think Miller's return gives the Steelheads a valuable combination of skill and veteran leadership heading into a big year.
