The Dallas Stars might not be shopping Jason Robertson, but that hasn't stopped others from building fantasy trades around the 25-year-old All-Star.

A new article from Rink Royalty laid out a bold scenario where the Los Angeles Kings would acquire Robertson in a deal meant to boost their chances of winning a Stanley Cup before Anze Kopitar retires.
It's the kind of trade idea that lights up both fanbases, but also raises some serious eyebrows.

This proposed trade package for Jason Robertson has sparked debate among Dallas Stars and Kings fans

The offer proposed by writer Brandon Croce includes forward Trevor Moore, top prospect Liam Greentree, and a 2026 second-round pick in exchange for Robertson.
On paper, that may look like a decent haul. But to many, it falls short of the true value of a player like Robertson, who has averaged 87 points over the past four seasons.
Croce wrote:
«Moore is certainly not the same player as Robertson, but is two years removed from his 31-goal season The big piece of this trade, and probably the toughest for the Kings to part with, is their top prospect in Liam Greentree.»

While Greentree was impressive in the OHL with Windsor, and Moore brings NHL experience at a lower cap hit, it's hard to imagine the Stars moving their most productive winger for anything less than a superstar return.
Especially considering that Robertson is still just 25 and entering his prime.
The only leverage here, according to Croce, is Dallas' tight cap situation and Robertson's looming extension.
Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos has suggested that Robertson could command up to $12 million annually on his next deal, putting pressure on the Stars to decide if they're ready to commit long term.
The Stars already lost Chris Tanev and have extensions coming for Thomas Harley and Wyatt Johnston. Still, most believe Jim Nill will do everything possible to keep Robertson, not trade him.
I don't think Dallas would even consider this unless negotiations completely collapse.
And if they ever did explore a deal, the ask would likely include a first-round pick, a current top-six forward, and more than just one prospect.
As one fan put it on social media:
«If this is the best the Kings can offer, Jim Nill will hang up the phone.»

Robertson's NHL profile highlights just how rare his consistency has been at such a young age. He's been the heartbeat of the Stars' offense and a major piece of their core alongside Roope Hintz and Miro Heiskanen.
Unless there's a complete breakdown in talks, don't expect No. 21 to be leaving Dallas anytime soon.
I still think the Stars would be crazy to move him right now.
