The Detroit Red Wings are visiting the Montreal Canadiens in a must-win game to have a chance at playoff hockey this spring.
A scary incident occurred early, when Red Wings Forward J.T Compher was cut in the face by Montreal winger Juraj Slafkovsk. Red Wings defenceman Moritz Seider and Slafkovsk got tangled up going for a puck. Slafkovsk 's leg lifted from the impact inadvertently catching Compher high.
Compher left the game for repairs and hasn't returned. Thankfully, he was able to leave the ice on his own. Hopefully, the Illinois native will be ok.
The 29 year old is in his first season in Detroit after signing a five-year contract, carrying a cap hit of $5.1M this summer. In 76 games this season Compher has scored 19 goals and 48 points.
