The KHL is widely known as the second best professional hockey after the NHL. Founded in 2008, the league has many Russians as well talent from all over the globe in different stages of their careers.
Two players from the KHL are attempting legal action to get out of their current contracts. Kazan Ak-Bars. Oilers prospect Nikita Yevseyev and Damir Zhafyarov are attempting to sue their own team an attempt to get out of his current contracts after being treated unfairly by their coach. Both players haven't played a game in the KHL this season.
Yevseyev is a sixth round pick of the Oilers from 2022. The 19 year old played his first year in the KHL last season scoring 5 goals and 7 points in 48 games. If the lawsuit goes through, the Oilers prospect could make the jump to North America or continue his career in his home country with another team.
