Edmonton Oilers star player Connor McDavid is causing concern among the team's fan base after not showing up for the team's full practice taking place today.
The announcement was made public by radio colour commentator for the Edmonton Oilers Bob Stauffer.
"The @EdmontonOilers Connor McDavid is NOT on the ice today for a full practice."
It could be something as simple as a maintenance day. However, there's been no official announcement from the team. GM Kne Holland recalled former first-round pick Dylan Holloway from the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL earlier, fueling speculation that McDavid may not be 100 percent.
The Edmonton Oilers have six games remaining in the 2023-24 regular season, with the first of them taking place tomorrow night against the Vegas Golden Knights. McDavid's absence for any length of time at this point in the year is a massive cause for concern. To make matters worse, this is the second day in a row McDavid has decided to not participate in an Oilers practice.
"No McDavid at practice today, second day off in a row for No. 97. That is uncharacteristic. Let's see where this goes."
McDavid currently sits at 31 goals and 99 assists in 74 games so far in 2023-24.
