The Edmonton Oilers blew a 3-1 lead in Game 1 against the Dallas Stars, and after the game, P.K. Subban blasted Edmonton's discipline in their brutal collapse.

After taking a 3-1 lead into the third period in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, the Edmonton Oilers completely fell apart in the third period, giving up five unanswered goals as they dropped Game 1 on the road 6-3.
There were many reasons why the Oilers struggled late in that game, with Stuart Skinner having another poor performance, with former NHLer turned analyst P.K. Subban calling out the team for a lack of respect and discipline.
"First of all, I thought Edmonton got a little festive. You're up 3-1 in that game. You know the Dallas Stars are a team that a lot of people had picked to be contending for the Stanley Cup. It's a great team over there. I thought they showed a lack of respect with their undisciplined play.

You cannot send great teams and give them an opportunity on special teams. You give Dallas three looks in the third period, they capitalize on all those looks. You give them opportunities to find their confidence."

In this instance, it's hard to argue with Subban, as the Oilers lack of discipline allowed Dallas to build some momentum early in the third period, and at the end of the day, they couldn't get focused again and stop their opponents.
The series is now just 1-0 however, giving Edmonton plenty of time to bounce back, but if they can compete for a full 60 minutes every night against a team like Dallas, they're at risk of flaming out before the Stanley Cup Finals.
