In a post on X, the Edmonton Oilers announced that they've agreed to terms on a two-year, entry-level contract with free agent goaltender Connor Ungar. The Oilers added that Ungar will report to the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors.
Ungar, 22, appeared in 26 games this season for the Brock Badgers, a Canadian university based in St. Catherine's, Ontario. In those 26 games, the Calgary native had a record of 20-6-0 with a 2.15 goals against average, a .932 save percentage and three shutouts.
With Connor Ungar under contract next season, the Edmonton Oilers currently have three goaltenders signed for the 2024-25 campaign, including Stuart Skinner and Jack Campbell. Calvin Pickard is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st, while Olivier Rodrigue and Ryan Fanti are restricted free agents, who are eligible for arbitration this summer.
