Fans Think Brad Marchand Leaked His Free Agency Decision During Stanley Cup Parade

Brad Marchand is being targeted by numerous teams in free agency and for very good reason. He came second in Conn Smythe voting, and he proved himself to be one of the best players on a Stanley Cup-winning team.

The Florida Panthers would love to have him back, but that is not going to be easy when you consider how the Panthers are up against the cap. This is especially true when you consider how Aaron Ekblad and Sam Bennett also want extensions.

Unsurprisingly, the Toronto Maple Leafs are trying to get involved here. They understand just how good Marchand is, and they are willing to make an offer he can't refuse.

However, during the Stanley Cup parade today, Marchand made some comments about Sam Bennett that have Panthers fans in awe.

Simply put, a lot of the fans on social media think this is Marchand admitting that he wants to return to South Florida next season.

While he did not say that directly, there is certainly a large contingency of fans who want it to be true, and they will bend the narrative in their direction.

If Marchand is hinting at his future, then this is bad news for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who would love to get the forward on their team.

He is a legend, and after years of defeating the Leafs with the Boston Bruins, it would be cool to see him switch sides, once and for all.

Only time will tell whether or not the Leafs finally get all that they have been hoping for come July 1st.
