The first period of game three has been fast and physical. Florida Panthers superstar Matthew Tkachuk gave a back elbow to Edmonton Oilers Derek Ryan

Game three of the Stanley Cup final has lived up to it's billing and it's only twenty minutes old. While the Oilers had to come out flying, and they have, even being down 1-0 the Oilers have been clicking on all cylinders. But it was a moment with just over a minute left centred around Florida Panthers Matthew Tkachuk that may result in fireworks moving forward that everyone should keep an eye on as the game progresses.

During a scrum behind Panthers Sergei Bobrovsky, Tkachuk who was visibly upset skated over to Oilers Derek Ryan and proceeded to deliver what can only be described as a spinning back elbow to his head. He was immediately sent to the penalty box

If the Panthers hope to win game three it would be advisable for Tkachuk to stay out of the penalty box. Tkachuk is the type of player that can provide many effective elements to a game but he's no good to the Panthers or his teammates if he's sitting for two minutes or more for simply being hot under the collar and acting out.

While the play won't be a make-or-break moment for the Panthers, harnessing their ability to play smart but physical is their goal to beating the Oilers Thursday night.
