The morning before game seven to decide the 2023-2024 Stanley Cup champion it is being reported that Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is not participating in the last practice of the season as Spencer Knight & Anthony Stolarz have made it onto the ice Sunday.

His absence, reported by multiple media is highly unusual and although today's practice was billed as optional, it may be a bit concerning seeing as Bobrovsky has helped propel the Panthers within one win of the franchises first Stanley Cup in their twenty-one year history.

The game of hockey is a grind, so sitting out a practice especially if it was deemed optional is not unusual by any stretch of the imagination. Appreciating and understanding that by this juncture in the season, many players are forcing themselves to play through ailments that they otherwise would be sitting on the sidelines nursing, Bobrovsky's absence could very well be a case of a maintenance day.

However if the Panthers are to be victorious, it is presumed that Bobrovsky, who has been the Panthers best player by far, be in the starting lineup when the puck drops Monday at 8pm for the deciding game. Especially being in Sunrise in front of the home fans you would think that the Panthers would do their best to field a full-lineup for easily the most important game in franchise history to this point.
