The Florida Panthers added immense talent at the trade deadline, and now, Paul Maurice has taken a shot at the whole locker room after the Brad Marchand addition as the fun continues in Florida after the deadline.
Brad Marchand has only just arrived in Florida, but he made his mark early by chirping his Team Canada teammate Sam Bennett immediately upon arrival, with many believing that he'll become a fan favourite in Florida fairly quickly.
A year or even six months ago, that idea would be completely foreign in Florida given the rivalry that the two teams have cultivated in recent years, but now, he adds a massive personality to a room that was already full of them.
After some playful back and forth, especially between Marchand and Bennett, Head Coach Paul Maurice has now got in on the fun, calling out the entire locker room in a recent interview.
It was clear during the Stanley Cup celebrations that this is one of the most tight knit groups in the NHL, and with all of their love for Maurice, this has to be one of the most fun environments for players in the NHL today.
While it's all well and good to build chemistry, the team still needs to get out on the ice and perform, and if they can get Marchand and Matthew Tkachuk fully healthy, this is a team that's going to be a genuine threat in 2025.
There's always a risk when adding a former rival like Marchand, but the vibes are high in Florida since the move, and if he can gel this well with the team on the ice, they'll be even more fun to watch down the stretch.
