Rob Blake will need to own up to fans after sending Gabe Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, Ramus Kupari, and Montreal's 2024 2nd-round pick to the Winnipeg Jets for Pierre-Luc Dubois.
Pierre-Luc Dubois was expected to be Los Angeles' next big thing, according to the organization when they acquired him.
This was PLD's opportunity to prove he wasn't the problem, like he'd been labeled in both Columbus and Winnipeg. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.
Sadly, the new line combinations released today are bad news for the young center. According to Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period, Pierre-Luc Dubois has been demoted to the 4th line center position below Blake Lizotte.
You can confirm this on DailyFaceOff.com as well.
Dubois has been a disappointment for the team, as he has not lived up to his sticker price, putting up just 4 points on 22 shots, 6 blocks, and 15:54 TOI over his last ten games.
PLD's contract accounts for 10.2% of the Kings' cap space, at an AAV of $8.5 million per year.
