The Minnesota Wild's season came to an end on Friday night after losing their first round Stanley Cup Playoff series to the Dallas Stars in six games.

It's unclear what the future holds for several players on the Wild's roster, including defenceman Matt Dumba, who will likely be moved by the organization this summer. But one name that everyone was thinking off right after the game on Friday night was goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury.

Fleury has one more year left on his contract with the Wild and after the game, he was asked about his future. He stated that he will honour the final year of his deal with Minnesota and will likely hang up the skates in 2024.

After telling reporters that he will play during the 2023-24 season, Fleury added, "That might be it."

The 38-year-old has had a solid NHL career thus far, winning three Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins, while also winning the Vezina Trophy while with the Vegas Golden Knights.

If Fleury does retire next summer, he'll be eligible to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Famer in 2027 and should be a first-ballot inductee.
