Matt Dumba gets just a minor after catching Drew O'Connor with a late, high hit
Matt Dumba of the Minnesota Wild served some time for this one, but you can't help but wonder if it was enough. In Friday night's game between the Wild and Pittsburgh Penguins, Dumba caught Drew O'Connor long after the puck was gone. Not only that, but it certainly seems like the point of contact was the head or face. Despite that, Dumba served just two minutes for interference. It'll be interesting to see whether the Department of Player Safety has anything to say about this one.
It was blatant enough that even the reporter who regularly covers the Minnesota Wild thinks Dumba could be getting a call from DoPS.
O'Connor left the ice following the hit and went right to the dressing room. He did return to the game to start the 2nd period.
