Mats Zuccarello was struck by a puck in last night's Wild-Canadiens game, and unfortunately, he had to have emergency surgery and will miss about a month.
The Minnesota Wild had a really good night on Thursday, defeating the visiting Montreal Canadiens 3-0 in a shutout. However, there were also some unfavorable reports that were eventually made public on Friday.
Mats Zuccarello had surgery after suffering a lower-body injury last night and is on the mend, mnwild coach John Hynes said. Zuccarello is on injured reserve, and Hynes said Zuccarello would probably be out three-to-four weeks.
Although Zuccarello's lower midsection appeared to be hit by the bullet of a shot, no information on the procedure has been made public.
John Hynes, the Wild's head coach, unfortunately, disclosed that additional players of the Wild will be out of the lineup too due to injuries suffered.
Joel Eriksson Ek is categorized as day-to-day after also missing the game due to an injury affecting his lower-body. Additionally listed as day-to-day is defenseman Jonas Brodin, who did not appear in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Montreal Canadiens.
Goaltender Filip Gustavsson and the Minnesota Wild had a good victory against the Habs, but there were also a lot of issues the team had to deal with, such as a slew of injuries.
