Ivan Demidov has quickly become a big name in Montreal, and now the young winger has revealed his social media plans ahead of a huge season for the Canadiens.

In the first-round of the 2024 NHL Draft, the Montreal Canadiens landed a steal in Ivan Demidov, and after a historic KHL campaign, he made his debut for the team last season to immense fanfare.
While he didn't produce at a high level in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Demidov has shown flashes of being an elite level player at the NHL level, and given the market that he's in, there's plenty of hype and pressure to live up too.
For a young player, that's not always easy, but now Demidov has revealed the social media strategy that has helped keep him even throughout his rise with the Canadiens thus far.
"I feel like I'm growing mentally. Pressure makes you better. I just don't read anything in the media. I have a phone, but it's always on 'Do Not Disturb.' Five hours before a game, I don't touch my phone - I don't really want to talk to anyone.

On Instagram, I've disabled all notifications, so nothing pops up. I just open it, check quickly, and close it.

I don't care at all about what's being said (about my skating speed). I just do my job."

While he clearly isn't effected by the chatter around him, one thing did come up that was interesting, with reporter Eric Engels noting that he believes Demidov could be a centre at the NHL level.
When asked about that, Demidov wasn't quite as sure as the reporter, noting that he would give it a try if asked however.
"Honestly, I don't even know if I could play center, I'd have to try."

Ultimately, Demidov appears to be a humble, hard working young player and a very likeable personality, so if he can avoid the negativity that sometimes comes with Canadian fanbases and media, he'll be a star in the National Hockey League.
