Jonathan Marchessault had a disappointing campaign in his first year with the Predators, and now three teams have emerged as trade candidates to land him.

Last off-season, the Nashville Predators made three huge signings, with many expecting them to be a playoff threat as a result, but after finishing near the bottom of the Western Conference, they may be looking to trade some of their big names.
One name that could draw interest is veteran forward Jonathan Marchessault, who had a disappointing overall year with the team, despite still tallying 21 goals and 56 points in 78 games played.
Now, he's been linked to several teams, with a recent report revealing three potential trade candidates to land the veteran star, including his former team the Vegas Golden Knights, despite the way that he was treated on the way out by the organization.
The other two teams that could look to land Marchessault are the Carolina Hurricanes, who are in desperate need of a playoff riser to help them chase their Stanley Cup goals, and the Ottawa Senators, a team that are looking to take yet another leap in 2025 after a fantastic 2024/25 campaign saw them break their post-season drought.
At 34-years of age, Marchessault is coming to the end of his career, with his current contract having another four years at an average value of $5.5 million a season, but given his production, he can still be very valuable to a contending team.
While the Predators don't need to trade Marchessault, the expectation is that there will be plenty of interest in him over the summer, so with so many suitors, don't be surprised to see a deal come to fruition in the coming months.
